NYC Dept. of Sanitation fails (again)

Recyclable and refuse pickup: Monday & Thursday
Refuse pickup: Thursday
Special Christmas tree pickup: Monday (I believe today was the last day)

Well, they managed to get the refuse bag picked up, but missed the six foot tall tree and the semi-transparent blue recycling bag.. again. It wouldn’t be so much of a problem if this didn’t happen every 2-3 weeks.

(un)Fortunately, the NYC Dept of sanitation has an online form to report missed pickups. Which I’m sure most of my neighbors will be happy to find out about.

While poking around the Dept. of Sanitation website, I found NY WasteMatch Materials Exchange which isn’t too big a deal, except if you’re looking for food grade 55 gallon plastic bins for rainwater harvesting (ID 7617).

Decided to keep poking around NYC.gov departments and found that, in addition to the Dept of Housing and Urban Development (aka HUD), the Department of Citywide Administrative Services has it’s own Real Estate auctions and sales. More on NYC.gov stuff tomorrow.
