  • Instead of rinsing dishes before placing them in the dishwasher.
Try loading dishes into the dishwasher as they are.
And save gallons of water normally used to pre-wash dishes.
  • Instead of replacing burnt out incandescent lightbulbs with regular incandescents, try replacing it with a low wattage Compact Flourescent bulb
  • Instead of using a traditional computer monitor (CRT), LCD monitors use less power.
  • Instead of washing clothes on a hot/warm cycle, switch to a warm/cold wash cycle.
  • Instead of washing clothes multiple times per week, wash and dry your clothes back-to-back in bulk. (ideally with an energy star rated top-loading clothes washer).
