The backyard to this property had initially been covered with old, ill kept concrete which the previous owner had supposedly removed. A while ago, it was discovered that the guy didn&#8217;t do the entire backyard &#8212; just the middle area. The\u00c2\u00a0&#8220;garden&#8221; area (as he called it) still has a &#8220;beam&#8221; of concrete roughly half a foot deep by 3 inches wide that spans all three sides of the yard&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 If you&#8217;re going to remove the old concrete, why not take it all?<\/p>\n<p>After quick call over to the GC (and so far 3 days of waiting for a quote) I figure I should get a response by Friday this week &amp; schedule the work for for the weekend after next.<\/p>\n<p>Update: Initial Estimate: $4,000 to remove the concrete and haul it away.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At times the lengths people go to in order to save a few bucks borders on mind-numbingly foolish.
