It wouldn&#8217;t be so much of a problem if this didn&#8217;t happen every 2-3 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>(un)Fortunately, the <a title=\"New York City Department of Sanitation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/html\/dsny\/html\/home\/home.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">NYC Dept of sanitation<\/a> has an <a title=\"NYC Dept of Sanitation Service Requests.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/html\/dsny\/html\/contact\/requests_missed.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">online form<\/a> to report missed pickups. Which I&#8217;m sure most of my neighbors will be happy to find out about.<\/p>\n<p>While poking around the Dept. of Sanitation website, I found NY <a title=\"NY WasteMatch\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wastematch.org\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">WasteMatch Materials Exchange<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0which isn&#8217;t too big a deal, except if you&#8217;re looking for food grade 55 gallon plastic bins for rainwater harvesting (ID 7617).<\/p>\n<p>Decided to keep poking around NYC.gov departments and found that, in addition to the Dept of Housing and Urban Development (aka HUD), the Department of Citywide Administrative Services has it&#8217;s own <a title=\"Department of Citywide Administrative Services Auctions and Sales.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/html\/dcas\/html\/auctions\/auctions.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Real Estate auctions and sales<\/a>.
